To all at SCELS,

Our team are sending donations to the New Life orphanage in Kenya in lieu of Christmas cards this year, so I just thought I’d send you an email to wish you all a very merry Christmas.

We liaise with equipment services all over the region but mostly with yourselves. I think that we NGH OT staff, and the residents of Sheffield, are lucky to have such a helpful, efficient and responsive equipment service. I want to thank you for all your help over the past year.

I hope you have an enjoyable and relaxing Christmas break.

Thank you for all the effort staff have put into getting equipment into our clients homes over the past couple of weeks without your effort we would have been unable to give the service we have given to clients. Thanks to the delivery drivers as well they are a credit to the service. - CRT O.T.

Dear SCELS,

Having recently had an excellent experience with SCELS, I thought it appropriate to put my comments down on paper as we rarely get a pat on the back for a job well done.

We as a team, identified a patient in dire need of a hospital bed and specialised mattress. I contacted SCELS to arrange a hospital bed, after I had explained the situation they were absolutely fabulous and I cannot fault the way in which they dealt with my request. They arranged delivery the next day. Unfortunately the patients family decided that they were unable to accommodate the bed dimensions. After further consultations with the family and particularly with the Nurse Advisor and the Office Supervisor, delivery was arranged for the following day for the hospital bed and the alternating mattress.

An excellent service for a patient in need.

This is just a truly genuine 'thank you' to you and your staff for all the help you have provided in my home. Indeed it is all so thoroughly in evidense as to be over-whelming and I am still slightly reeling from 'the shock' But please also believe me when I say that I am intensely grateful to all concerned, it's just like christmas all over again.

I would appreciate it if you would pass on my thanks to the members of your staff who were so helpful over the past few months as I nursed my father.

Everyone who I had dealings with was not only reliable, they were pleasant and considerate - from the technicians who delivered the myriad bits of equipment we borrowed to the receptionists we phoned up.

When I expressed my thanks to the technician who collected the equipment after my father died, he made the point that it was a team effort with many people working behind the scenes, from those who made sure the equipment was cleaned ready for re-use quickly, to the staff who handled the paper work. My sincere thanks to all the team.

The equipment itself was a boon but even more valuable for me, in the unfamiliar circumstances of having to nurse someone at home, was the feeling that there were people 'out there' who responded to our needs quickly and efficiently.

Please pass on this bouquet of thanks and let those who are 'behind the scenes' know their work is appreciated. - Client

Today I have moved my Mother from my home to her own home. I would like to thank all your team for your very real help in this regard. On other occasions when I have had to ask for your help it has been given with such pleasant manners and attitudes by all concerned, from the people who man the telephones to the men who come and actually do the job..... I have to say that the support I and my family have received out in the community has gone a long way to restoring my faith in human nature. I have encountered very much the same thing in many other sections of the community support system too. I just want you to know that we who rely on you people are grateful for the way you deal with us and conduct your business. - Client

Dear Equipment Stores Staff,

Thankyou for your help and support over the last few weeks - especially in identifying and delivering hospital beds at very short notice! As a result a number of extremely ill patients have been able to fulfil thier wish of going home and spending time with their families.

Keep up the good work!
